That’s me in the picture – my name is Tobias Scherer. I was born in 1999 in Bonn, Germany, where I still live and study Product Design at FH Aachen.
Why did I choose to study Product Design? That’s an interesting question—one I can’t answer in just one sentence. As a child, I didn’t have a specific career aspiration in this field. My passion for good design developed over the years through observations, experiences, and various professional opportunities that shaped my perspective.
What fascinates me most about Product Design is the ability to turn a simple idea into something extraordinary. It’s inspiring to see how design is not just about aesthetics but also about functionality and sustainability. To me, it’s a profession that carries responsibility—toward the environment, society, and the creation of a better future.
In the future, I want to focus on the field of mobility, specifically on designing vessels. Yachts, in particular, embody everything I admire in great design: luxurious aesthetics, technical precision, and innovative solutions that meet the highest standards. The maritime sector captivates me because it presents a unique challenge—combining elegance, functionality, and sustainability within a limited space. My goal is to contribute to making vessels not only visually appealing but also technologically and ecologically future-proof.
