a modular dinghy that can be adapted to the skills and needs of the sailors
Conventional sailing dinghies are static in size. As skills or crew size increase, it becomes necessary to switch to a completely new boat. This lack of flexibility is often uneconomical for families and forces rental companies to maintain a capital-intensive fleet diversity. The concept solves this problem through radical modularity.
The basis is a compact basic platform on which children can learn to sail in a playful way.
The system grows with the requirements. Inflatable modules using drop-stitch technology allow the boat to be enlarged as needed. What makes it special is its resource efficiency: the original hull remains as the central cockpit, while the modules increase capacity and stability for additional sailors. The rig also consists of separable modules that can be assembled as needed.
VAKA thus offers a scalable, durable solution that simplifies entry into water sports and adapts flexibly to every stage of life.
